File Chat In Conversation

The File Chat feature allows users to upload documents directly inside the Conversation Page and chat with them in real time. Users can ask questions, request summaries, or extract key data, with the AI using the uploaded document as its primary reference.

Notes:

Grounding Content: Uploaded files are automatically included as grounding content for the AI's analysis.
File Storage: Uploaded files are securely stored within a personal file container module dedicated to managing user files.
Privacy & Metadata: Filenames and metadata of uploaded files remain completely unreadable by the platform or system.
Token Consumption: File size does not directly correlate to token usage. Files featuring images, tables, or complex layouts often consume significantly more tokens than standard text-only files.

Step 1: Click on AI Assistant.

Step 2: Select the AI Model.

Note: There are 2 AI models available for File Chat:

🔶 OpenAI | GPT-4o [With Uploads]
🔶 OpenAI | GPT-4.1 [With Uploads]

Step 3: Click the + icon.

Step 4: Select Add to File Container.

Note: This feature is only available for AI Models that support file chat.

Note:
If you select a model that isn't compatible with File Chat, an error will appear instructing you to switch models before uploading files.

Currently, the new File Chat 2.0 system is exclusively supported by select OpenAI models. Please select one of the following to chat with your files:
- - 🔶 OpenAI | GPT-4o [With Uploads]
  - 🔶 OpenAI | GPT-4.1 [With Uploads]

Step 5: Select Choose File to upload a file to the file container.

File Upload Limits

File size: Up to 32 MB per file (Files under 10 MB recommended for optimal speed and performance)
Storage limit: Up to 20 files per user
Supported formats: Check our Supported File Formats list.

Step 6: Click the Upload File button.

Outcome: A success pop-up will confirm the upload, and the file will be added to the File Container.

Note: Click here to view file deletion instructions for the File Container.

Step 7: Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to upload more files into the file container. (If Required).

Step 8: Select one or multiple files to use in the conversation.

Step 9: Click Use selected files.

Outcome: Selected files appear as tags above the text area, and the File Chat button is displayed in the text field.

Note: To remove an attached file, click the 'x' on the selected file tag.

Alternatively: Click File Chat button to deselect the attached files, then click Use selected files.

Step 10: Type a message in the text field to start the conversation.

Step 11: The AI generates responses by extracting information from the selected files.

Note: Files can be uploaded mid-conversation, not just when initiating a chat. Once a response is generated, attached files appear as tags below the text area.

Adding Files: Click the File Chat button to upload new files or select existing ones from the container to add to the conversation.
Removing Files: Click the 'x' on the selected file tag to remove it.

Step 13: Continue the conversation in the text field until the interaction is complete.

Notice: If a file is deleted from the File Container, the file tag below the text area will be highlighted in red and display a del suffix when you access previous conversations that used the deleted file.
