Note: This feature allows tools to be chained sequentially from the Toolkit's Activities, passing chat history seamlessly from one tool to the next (no copy/paste required).
Facilitators can design custom tool-chain sequences for different toolkits directly from any tool.
Users can transition between tools without returning to the main toolkit.
Prompts in the current tool can automatically trigger the next tool in the sequence.
Ensure the second tool's LLM has a context window the same size or larger than the first tool's. Think of it like passing a message — the second person needs a big enough notepad to write down everything the first person said.
To initiate the Tool Chain, ensure that the Capability Tools you intend to link are already connected in the Activity Items within the Toolkit.
Step 1: Click the Edit icon for the First Capability Tool in the Tool Chain.
Step 2: Click the Edit icon.
Step 3: Click on (Advanced) Add Tool Chain.
Step 4: This outlines the additional steps to edit the prompts for the tools to function with the Tool Chain.
Note: Click here to access the instructions on editing prompts for the tools to be chained.
Step 5: Select the Second Capability Tool in the Tool Chain.
Step 6: Toggle on the slider to enable the selected settings. (Refer to the Tool Chain Setting details below.)
Note:
The Lock all chat inputs setting must be enabled for the Tool Chain.
Other settings should only be activated as needed.
Step 7: Click Save.
Outcome: This is how the Capability Tools are displayed in the Activity Item once the Tool Chain is completed.
Step 8: Update the Display for Participants field. (If required)
Step 9: Click Save Changes.
Outcome: The Tool Chain icon will be displayed on the first Capability Tool to indicate that the tools are chained.
